Welcome to Gout101- Your home for articles, information, and resources to help you overcome the agony of gout attacks.
Is Gout Pain Making It Hard to Enjoy Your Usual Activities?
Here, you can learn what has helped me overcome my gout symptoms and interact with other people who share our diagnosis in order to better understand what can be done to eliminate your gout.
As a gout sufferer myself, I know how suddenly a gout attack can appear. You are peacefully sleeping or quietly watching television, when all of a sudden you are experiencing a pain that is seemingly beyond definition. Even breathing is painful, and the weight of a bed sheet can feel more like a ton of red-hot bricks.
If these symptoms describe your life as they used to describe mine, then you are in the right place. I have spent countless hours, weeks, and months compiling research and testing different remedies and treatments for my gout in an attempt to do what my doctors could not- stop the pain!
On this site, you will find a great deal of information about gout, its causes and symptoms, and, of course, its treatment. What you won’t find is someone pushing you to take different pharmaceuticals and medications with a laundry list of side effects. Trust me, I have tried them all, and they are just no substitute for natural, beneficial treatment.
You also aren’t going to find someone telling you that if you just eat a few cherries or run every day that your gout symptoms will disappear. I know the reality of the situation, and I know how hard it is to get rid of gout.
With that said, I recommend browsing around the site. Feel free to post in our community and share your experiences, and feel free to read about what has worked so well for me. There may not be a cure for gout, but I have learned that attacks can be prevented. To know how I stopped my gout, click the Stop the Pain link at the top of the page.
I visit the site regularly and look forward to sharing ideas and information with you. Feel free to let me know what you think and to ask any questions.

What Gout Attack Triggers Affect You?
If you have gout, it can feel like attacks come out of the blue. The truth of the matter, however, is that there are often triggers for a gout attack, even if you are unaware of them. An attack or flare is caused by the formation of uric acid crystals that results in swelling, pain, and tenderness, but what are the triggers that lead to these attacks, and what can you do to prevent them or to be aware of them?
